1000 Trees Travel Description
Throughout my childhood we would make the sweaty car journey across Vietnam for our annual family reunion. Every 10 minutes I would torment my parents by asking the dreaded question “Are we nearly there yet?”. Through gritted teeth my father would respond with with “Just another 1000 k’s”.
Cây is the Vietnamese word for tree and the road was through dense tropical forest, so in my befuddled bilingual brain, distances in Vietnam were measured in trees. Hence 1000 Trees!
