In 1983, a young Bill Sayer backpacking around Europe would fix his eyes on a pair of hands hovering over a multi-use tool at a Dubrovnik market stall. Engraved on its face were the letters “C. C. C. P. ” After recognizing its transparent history, Bill purchased the tool, and kept it, in hope to conjure 5 better uses that would bring people together instead of separate them.

Years later, Bill’s 10 year-old son, Conrad, had discovered his father’s Croatian souvenir in their attic and suggested to have their new 5 in 1 “mate” accompany them on their camping expeditions. It only took 8 years before young Conrad’s entrepreneurial mindset expanded beyond that of personal gain. Conrad, in conjunction with Bill and his 1st mate Shirley Smith, would work together to build a company that prides itself on quality, love for nature, and limitless possibilities for adventure.
