About Alderville Black Oak Savanna

The largest intact tract of native grassland habitat in Central Ontario, including rare tall grass prairie and black oak savanna ecosystems. Located on Alderville First Nation and on the edge of the Oak Ridges Moraine.

Alderville Black Oak Savanna Description

We are a not-for-profit ecology center & ecological restoration organization working to restore and preserve Tall Grass Prairie, Black Oak Savanna and other ecosystems on Alderville First Nation in the Rice Lake Plains area of Ontario. We also work to design and plant native plant gardens and pollinator gardens at schools and other organizations throughout the community. We welcome those who are interested to contact us to book a tour or visit!
