I purchased a gorgeous dress late last year. I wore it and then took it to the dry cleaners recommended by them. I wanted the dress ready for a wedding I have in two weeks time. When I went to pick it up, the spots on the fabric had come off and the fabric looked as if it was ten years old. The dry cleaners said that they followed instructions closely. I returned the dress to The Strand Arcade, where they sent it to head office for assessment. They agreed that the dry cleaning should not have ruined the dress in the way that it had. They said they would make me a new dress as they had found more fabric. I was extremely excited and grateful. They sent me the dress last week....it was the same dress...they just removed the netting fabric and replaced it with extended and stitched netting. The dress had shrunk with the dry cleaning and so I can't even fit into it. The sales person yesterday admitted that they did not make another dress as they had promised, but replaced the netting, which is also too small as it now chokes me in the neck area. They lied to me and then thought I was stupid enough to accept the same substandard dress with netting that is extended with a clear stitching that is extremely visible. Now they want me to take it in with the receipt ( "as it is the law") so they can give me a refund. I have a week and a half to a wedding, where I have bought shoes and accessories for a particular dress that was promised to me by Alex Perry, but now have no dress and NO time to look for a dress. I stressed the fact that I needed the dress ready for the wedding and they reassured me that i would have a new dress in time. All a lie. They thought I was a fool and would not figure it out. I am working now until next Friday non stop. Left with one day to find a dress and purchase possibly new shoes and accessories. Thank you. Never again Alex Perry. I am soooo disappointed. I guess I am not a Hollywood actress or celebrity!!
Not in their eyes anyway. Be careful purchasing anything from them. It's not worth the money or the stress.
