Barrister at Law

Alexander is a barrister at Second Floor Selborne Chambers Sydney where he maintains a diverse commercial law practise with focuses on:

• Contracts (leases, supply and service agreements, confidentiality arrangements and deeds);
• Consumer protection (rights, warranties and recourse against retailers or suppliers);
• Intellectual Property (moral rights, ownership under common law and in employment situations);
• Building & Construction (security of payment (‘SOPA’) matters, variations, claims);
• Equity (wills and estates, power of attorney and enduring guardianship matters);
• Torts (negligence and nuisance claims); and
• Defamation.

Alex began his legal career as a law clerk at both Shakenovsky & Associates and Greenstein & Associates where he undertook a number of duties including:
• Drafting, compiling and proofreading affidavits and statements;
• Communicating and negotiating with clients and other parties, and
• Providing administrative support including file organisation, office management and firm billings.

After moving into a solicitor role at Ad Diem and Associates he began to specialise in commercial contracts and corporate law, from here his passion in advocacy and litigation for not only commercial law but for the wider aspects of civil law grew.

Since being called to the Bar in 2015, as an advocate, Alex has been able to indulge his interests in the problem solving aspect of advising clients, he enjoys delving into the details of legal disputes especially complex corporate contracts. Having been educated at Knox Grammar, Macquarie University and Harvard Alex also enjoys helping out his local community by volunteering for Basketball NSW and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Basketball Association Disciplinary Tribunals and the Law Society of NSW and NSW Bar Association moot competitions.
