Good hostel

Don't be deterred by the rustic appearance of the exterior of this heritage building in beautiful Surry Hills. The hostel staff are very welcoming, the service is excellent, and the facilities and amenities were above standards. Central train station is also only a 5-10 minute walk through a lovely park. I can only say great things about my experience at Alfred Park Accommodation. After having some accommodation plans fall through last minute, I needed somewhere peaceful and comfortable on my trip to Sydney. I was visiting from Brisbane to attend a friend's Black Tie wedding. The staff took excellent care of me and my friends, putting us all in a dorm together with a new, renovated bathroom. Near our room was another 2 shared bathrooms, so when it came to getting ready for our event, we were more-than accommodated. We were also able to get a fantastic night's rests with comfortable beds, and an 11pm curfew. The other guests were considerate and the atmosphere was just generally very friendly. I can't wait to head back to Sydney again for another visit to the city, and will definitely stay here again.

Cheap clean and awesome people, perfect for working (11pm everyone has to be quiet) if you want to chill at night just go in the awesome park.

Nothing but good things to say. One traditional building in the front to the park, and a modern one in the back street side. So we stay twice in a month we knew both, with private bathrooms. Great kitchen, laundry room, and a big covered terrace to stay and have breakfast. By night we use to walk to the restaurants at Kings Street near the Sydney University, but there were many of them closest. Nice people who pic us at the airport and give us back at the end with no cost.
