Ambleside

About Ambleside

Ambleside is the name of the house. A two storey home with large rooms, separate kitchen, living area and bathroom for a maximum of three students. There is a swimming pool and always at least on dog.

Students like staying for a few reasons - the food is good, the home is safe, clean, comfortable and suitable for study and personal time out. They stay because the home is close to the city. A short walk (6 minutes) to the train station and then it is only 20 minutes to the city, colleges and universities. Some students have ended up staying for a few years until they have finished their studies.

Students come from all over the world - Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan, Brazil, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, New Caledonia . . . the list just goes on.

Robert & Christine started hosting international students in their home over 6 years ago. What started off as a way to fill an empty home after their children left to marry and make their own way in life has ended up being a most enjoyable venture.

Rob & Chris love sharing their life stories, love listening to each student as they tell stories of their home, family, country and what happened during the day.
