Anaconda Wollongong

Staff were friendly when we were buying two bikes but absolutely dreadful service when it turned out that one of them had a crooked wheel. When you spin it it’s ridiculous how crooked it is. There is no way to set the front brake.
Wife went there and got sent back after a brief inspection with the lady telling her it’s normal and wheels aren’t ever perfectly straight. This one was so far from perfect it wasn’t funny... She consulted with me, went a second time, they took the bike and didn’t get back to her for a week. When she went there herself it looked like the bike hadn’t been touched. The girl asked my wife to wait and after a few minutes came back saying it’s all good. Wheel was crooked and she told them to replace it or give our money back. Another week goes by and still no contact. I went there myself a few days ago, left my phone number and still no contact.
All the beautiful weather and we can’t ride our bikes together because of Anaconda’s awful service.

In the recent times I have visited this Anaconda Store I have found it to be always in stock, have slightly expensive prices ($130 for a rain jacket on sale?) and friendly staff. The store opened late last year and I was there on opening day. I bought a pair of nice joggers from the store and because I live half an hour away, it's not too easy to get back down to the store. I get back home and notice that the tag that stops people putting them on was still attached. I got back down to the Wollongong Store and the person who served me said sorry but didn't offer any sort of offer. Our family lives half an hour away and these staff can't do basics for the shoe tag. The store has improved since but because of the occasion where this event took place, this store is getting only 3/5.

Excellent range of gear for most outdoor activities. Well priced and well stocked

Was looking for youth outdoor clothing but the range has a big gap in sizes for kids around late primary / early high school :/

Walked in, found the packs, looked at them & the specials on offer, chose one & paid for it. Stores like this are typical today, with prices to match & low staffing levels. If you want a boutique experience go to one, & pay accordingly. I'm happy.

Hmmm, Staff have no idea on products. I asked about backpacks and the differing prices/materials. The guy had no idea. He just made stuff up when I asked. I saw a rip around a zipper on a brand new Denali backpack and the guy said , thanks I better hide that one. I asked about where this brand comes from as I only see them at Anaconda. I suggested they were just a cheap brand made in China fro Anaconda, and he said, yea, probably.
Also I noticed they are selling a bestaway blow up mattresses for $129 (on special) when you can get the same one for about $70.

My advice is 'Do your homework' as there are some poor quality products and some very overpriced stuff sold from these outlets.
