There's nothing weak about PTSD. You aren't stuck in "victim mentality" because you "don't want to heal badly enough". You're not lazy. This sort of attitude has been really grinding my gears lately. Stress and trauma responses are there for a REASON! Something bad already DID happen. It's not just about poor mindset. It's a physiological response by a triggered nervous system. You can't just decide to "get over it".
If you want more compassion in the lengthy process of heali...ng from trauma, we have several awesome practitioners here at Anamaya. I'm just one of them.

Did you know that our own Ursula Faye made the Smart 100 finals for innovation for her body centred trauma Release work?
Neither did she, until now. She’s sad she missed the party, but pretty chuffed to have been invited.
She’s in some pretty impressive company. Each finalist has a featured profile. Go check them out. 😊

Everything you ever went through, that was too hard to process at the time, gets stored in your body. Over time, this toxic load takes its toll on you emotionally, energetically and physically - manifesting in pain and illness.
It’s time to let it go. Trauma Release Massage is the gentlest and most compassionate way I could develop to do this. It is my labour of love, born from my belief that there had to be a better way, and over 15 years of development. Your body takes the ...lead, as your nervous system is re-set. Nothing is forced before it’s ready. You are safe here.
Add in the emotional clearing processes of The Spiral, to target specific beliefs and issues and you have a fairly comprehensive approach that really works deeply.
September looks set to be just as intense as August, just in a different way. If you are wondering if I could help, feel free to reach out. Ursula Faye

This! And being resilient and capable doesn’t mean not having bad days. I’m sick of seeing traumatised people having shame and judgement lumped on them because they have the awareness to articulate when they ARE struggling, and try to give people some context for why they are where they are at. It’s not like “normal” people don’t have bad days. For those who learn to survive and thrive, despite trauma, these “lapses” are a normal part of the journey to healing. It’s not linea...r. It’s deeply tangled and embedded. And it is also temporary. It’s a process of the nervous system revisiting and healing more deeply in areas previously inaccessible. It’s part of the process of self-regulation. It’s a dance of steps forward and back, and then forward again. But this process can be hindered and sometimes lengthened when other people make judgements that trigger more shame. Shame is corrosive to the human soul. Survivors of complex trauma are often the most compassionate, resilient and motivated - and develop an incredible drive to do good in the world. To protect others. When people get stuck - it’s not a choice! Most people are doing the best they can. Be kind. 💖

OMG! What an amazing video. So, this is what I’m working with, when I’m apparently just doing that “fairy touch” thing that I do. See how pervasive it is throughout your body? And this is just a small section of leg! It also keeps all the organs in place.
And it’s part of our nervous system, the major communication channel for the body and also where we store stress and trauma!
No wonder the pain/damage has been so wide-spread throughout both legs from my fall on the weekend...! Lots of points of connection to the impact.
I have a new respect for the complexity of the muscular system, and therefore, potentially, of injuries also. I’m super grateful that I have the skills I have to put my own body into an accelerated healing space.
