Anchorage Educators are all having the best day today and have been incredibly spoilt like they deserve! We have had so many familyŌĆÖs write appreciation notes that are out the front of the Centre, write emails and give some gifts. Thankyou to everyone!
This morning we all met in the yard to appreciate the Educators with all of the children there too. Ashleigh Piek and Fiona handed out gifts to all of the Educators and we had Subway platters for lunch. Take a look at some of ...the pictures.

Today is Early Childhood Educator day! I have planned lots of surprises today for our wonderful team at Anchorage. Our Sailors have been thoroughly enjoying their group times. They have been learning about their colours through play. What better place to learn than by the river. ŌØż’ĖÅ­¤¦Ī­¤Æø­¤ÆÜ­¤ÆÖ­¤Æ£­¤ÆŚ

Spring has sprung and we are in September already!!! This year is flying by.
Our Captains children are learning about the life cycle of a plant, by investigating how tiny seeds grow into a plant, tree or flower. They have extended on this through dramatic play by creating a ŌĆ£Plant HospitalŌĆØ.
We are encouraging Anchorage familyŌĆÖs to bring in their "sick" plants for us to care for and help to bring back to life.
... If you have any old plants or flowers, please place your "sick" plants on the table out the front of the Centre with your familyŌĆÖs name on it. The children are very excited. ­¤īĘ­¤ī│­¤ī┐­¤Źā­¤ī╣­¤ī╗

Early Childhood Educators Day is this Wednesday. We have this sign out the front of the Centre along with some note paper to write on. Please write a note to one or all of our educators for all of their hardwork, dedication and care for your children. This week on Wednesday, 5th September is Early Childhood Educators Day. ItŌĆÖs an opportunity for children and families attending early learning services to acknowledge the efforts of their early childhood educators and make them feel extra special! We will be having a big party for our excellent Educators on Wednesday.
Families will also find a card out the front of the Centre to write a special message on for any of the Educa...tors.

A huge thankyou to all the dads, grandparents and uncles that came today to celebrate fatherŌĆÖs day with the children. Today was amazing and a big turn out from loved ones. MOPOKE!
If I could suggest an amazing book to buy, I would suggest MOPOKE. It was one of the books for this years book awards. The Captains children loved it. Another extension activity our Captains children did was creating a huge MOPOKE with materials that we had at the Centre. Look how awesome it turned out!

This weekend we were busy at Anchorage. We now have our Street Library out the front of the Centre. The children will be putting in the first lot of books donated by the Centre tomorrow, we will be sure to share some photos. For those that donŌĆÖt know the purpose of the Street Library, it is a free community library that is accessible from the street. It is an invitation to share the joys of reading with the local community; books come and go; no-one needs to check them in or... out. People can simply reach in and take what interests them; when they are done, they can return them to the Street Library network. Please share this with the local community. To end Book Week for 2018 ŌĆ£Find Your TreasureŌĆØ, I thought I would share a truely special book created by our CaptainsŌĆÖ children. The Preschool children wrote and illustrated the story, ŌĆ£Peter Pan Finds the TreasureŌĆØ. They are all so clever!!!!! ­¤ōÜŌÜō’ĖÅ

Today our Captains were very excited as they received a special surprise from our owner Ashleigh. Ashleigh surprised the Captains children with two BEEBOTS!!! Beebots are absolutely amazing and used in Primary Schools all over the world. They are a programmable floor robot that teaches the concept of coding and early computing. Today the Captains were lucky enough to have another excursion to Grays Point Public School. The children were so excited to go to the schoolŌĆÖs library for book week! The librarian was wonderful and organised some stories and activities for the children to celebrate book week. They had such an incredible time. We will be sure to return to Grays Point Public School library soon! ŌÜō’ĖÅ­¤ōÜ

Today was a wonderful day at Anchorage, the children are really enjoying book week. Attached is a picture from the Navigators, Sailors and Captains. The Navigators were lucky enough to have one of the mums come in to read ŌĆ£The GruffaloŌĆØ to the children. I also took a photo of some of the children in the Sailors room and Captains room. They looked great dressed as their favourite book character! ŌÜō’ĖÅ #bookweek

Coming from an Early childhood education background, I was particularly fussy when choosing a preschool for my daughter. Without a doubt the wonderful teachers and educators there influenced my decision, they are amazing with the children! It's a bonus that the environment is also wonderful. I'm so happy we found Anchorage.
