I have purchased my four animals at Animalia Hurstville and I am so grateful for their help with raising my furry family.They always ask how my furry babies are and are very happy to sit down with me and answers any questions or concerns I may have. They are always happy to help and also look after my animals when I take holidays. I know some of their products are more expensive than pet warehouses but I prefer to support a family operated small business that rescues and helps animals in need in our community. Overall I am very happy with all of my experiences there.

60.00 for Taste of the Wild dog food?! 60.00?! Petsfood Plus in Roselands sells it for 30.00 Same size bag. A shop in Penshurt sells it for 35! The markup here is atrocious! There was no price tag on the shelf for it so I bought it because my dog was out of food for the night. Everywhere else was closed. Animalia charges double the price for the same size? I just cannot wrap my head around that! Will NOT shop here again because this was robbery plain and simple! Staff member was friendly but I think she was trying to distract me from realizing how much I was paying for this! Search elsewhere. Save your money!

Very expensive, only realised afterwards how much i got ripped off when buying an aquarium. Do your research before you go in. Also given false information in regards to how many fish the aquarium would house. Also check fish for fin rot.

My teenage daughter and her friend went to this pet store to enquire if the store took on young people for work experience. It was my daughter's friend enquiring; it took a lot for her to get over her nerves and ask the girl in charge; and the girl was quite abrupt with her; saying "no". She was quite abrupt with my daughter too. I won't be going there again to get a pet put it that way.

Our experience with Animalia Hurstville was 5+ stars, we bought a beautiful kitten from them and the care and support didn't stop there. It has been over a year now, and I have always received great advice from Maria and her team on the exotic shorthair breed and care information and advice. Every email was promptly replied to. Through out this past year, I have dropped in to the shop many times, just to say hi and tell them how much we love our exotic shorthair boy. We have a friendship with Maria that will last a lifetime, and that is because she cares about all the animals and about every customer. She and her team went above and beyond in helping us provide the best care to our new furry member. Thank you for everything Maria!

Aside from finding their products ridiculously expensive, I have to say I was very uncomfortable and disappointed seeing the manager 'going off' at one of her staff members today. The reprimand was rather loud and confrontational, and I understand it may need to happen and frustration builds up, but there is definitely a time and place and that is certainly NOT in front of customers. The high turnover in staff may be because of things like this- it definitely does not look professional.
