Anokhi Dental would like to introduce the newest addition of our team Dr Rachel Jiyeon Yoo.
Dr Rachel Jiyeon Yoo was born in Korea and grew up in a family of pharmacists that practice both Western and Chinese herbal medicine. She has always had a primary focus in health and a deep respect for traditional healing modalities and modern medicine.
She initially pursued a degree in Pharmacy at Monash University in Victoria, then going on to complete her Bachelor of Dental Scienc...e at the University of Melbourne in 2012. Since graduating, Rachel has gained a vast amount of experience in private practices in both the rural and metropolitan areas of Melbourne.
She has extensive knowledge of the philosophies and methodologies of holistic dentistry, including safer amalgam removal protocols, having worked in a holistic dental practice in Melbourne prior to relocating to Sydney. Her philosophies and approach to holistic dental care are very much in line with our values at Anokhi Dental.
Rachel is pursuing further study in orthodontics in order to improve sleep and breathing related disorders with a truly holistic approach. She understands the importance of healthy breathing and sleep for overall health and offers this treatment to children and adults.
She combines her friendly nature with a deep commitment to dental excellence to ensure her patients have one more reason to smile after they have visited Anokhi dental.

Anokhi-The name Anokhi (An-ō-key) translates to “unique” in Sanskrit, the ancient language associated with India.

With the winter chills setting in we are entering the season where we are more likely to pick up dreaded colds and viruses. Winter can be a sluggish season. To combat this, a hot lemon, honey and ginger drink first thing in the morning can do wonders for your immune system! This is also an excellent drink for flushing toxins from the digestive system and giving your lymphatic system a refreshing boost. If you are consuming drinks which are acidic such as lemon or apple cide...r vinegar, please remember to observe what we at Anokhi Dental call the “the 1-hour rule”. What is this? We advise waiting at least one hour after consuming acidic drinks before brushing or eating. This is because the acid in your drink can soften the surface mineral on your teeth. By brushing or eating soon after you are at risk of scraping essential minerals off the teeth. This can lead to exposed dentine, sensitivity and further dental issues. Fortunately, our own saliva contains the minerals teeth are made of i.e. calcium and phosphate. By waiting one hour you give your saliva an opportunity to remineralise or in effect “repair” your teeth. We love nature’s intelligence!!
