Astra Mediation's principal mediator, Malcolm Choat, applies the following experience and qualifications to provide value-for-money mediation services. He is: - An accredited mediator- A psychologist- A non-practising lawyerHis former legal practice, including 17 years at the Bar, have equipped Malcolm with an understanding of the law and how it is applied. As a barrister he has seen, first-hand, what litigation can do to people. He has been practicing as a psychologist since 2007, and has developed skills in assisting people to manage emotions, to communicate more effectively, and to problem solve on a win /win basis. In addition to degrees in law and psychology, Malcolm has a Graduate Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution and a Graduate Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution. He has undertaken mediation training at Bond University and the College of Law. He was formerly appointed as a mediator to the Supreme Court and District Court of New South Wales.
