About Aussie Ark
Aussie Ark has a vision to create long-term futures for our threatened Australian species. Aussie Ark secures wild sanctuaries to conserve our native wildlife, free from unnatural predation.
Aussie Ark Description
Eventually Devil Ark will have a population of 1, 000 or more Tasmanian devils. There are currently 140 adult devils at the Ark. Our dedicated, resident keepers are there around the clock to manage the hundreds of large enclosures where the devils can range in natural bushland conditions in a climate similar to that in Tasmania.
The devils will live in these 'Tasmania-like' conditions while the fatal Devil Facial Tumour Disease runs its devastating course through the wild population of Devils in Tasmania. Devil Ark aims to raise awareness and funding in order to avert extinction of the Devil.

Did you know... Young joeys grow very quickly, leaving their mother at around 10 months of age. When born, the foetuses are the size of a grain of rice, around 1cm, furless and completely pink. The mother can produce as many as 50 foetuses but only the first four who are able to latch onto the mother’s teat will survive.
