Australian Climbing Festival Description

The festival strives to showcase the best of climbing from films, presentations from international and Australian climbers, to fun competitions, clinics, demonstrations, gear, climbing competitions, and much more in between. It's also a great avenue to share information, meet new people, and have fun.

The Australian Climbing Festival is held in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales, a premier rock climbing destinations. The Blueys is unique in that it is the only major climbing area in Australia located in close proximity to fantastic restaurants, cafes, accommodation, public transport, and a major capital city. There are thousands of routes on innumerable sandstone cliffs, from hard sport routes, to long multi-pitch trad routes. The Blue Mountains scenery is breathtaking, located in a World Heritage area.

The predecessor of the ACF was the 'Escalade' festivals held biennially through the nineties and run by Lucas Trihey. The last ACF was held in 2007 and was organised by Adam and Claire Donoghue. The next festival planned for 2014 will be organised by Gemma Woldendorp and Natasha Sebire.
