Avari Punjabi Indian Restaurant

I tried this Indian tonight. I have to say it was the best Indian I've tried in the hills district. Great service, reasonable pricing, efficient delivery, loved the food it was just amazing. Will go back here asap for my Indian food !!

Food ok but wont go back

We ordered a few meals but unfortunately we didn't receive the butter chicken and the other couple of meals we got were horrible. I then called up to complain and they then accused me of lying telling me I had it. I don't recommend going there unless your standards of Indian is really low.

The overall quality of the food was extremely poor. It almost felt like the Chicken was kept for several days. The chicken Karahi was too sweet and the meat samosas were dry and bland. Even the chutneys tasted as though they were frozen and thawed. The only good thing was the Naan bread.

Always great food.

We have been coming to this restaurant for more than 15 years and seen ownership change a number of times over this period of time. I would give it 4 stars for the excellent standard of food and service but unfortunately last night there was a major problem. The total on the bill did not match the total of the items on the bill. The bill total was $130 over what it should have been which was $392. There were 14 dinners. After 45 mins the owner agreed that the POS system had incorrectly totalled the bill. So I say enjoy the food and the service which are excellent but check your bill. Unfortunately none of us will be back.
