I would happily recommend this place based on its service. 5 stars. Thankyou Chris for always being able to accommodate to our needs even on short notice. There is sometimes a delay in collecting the vehicle but based in the city you can't always expect your car to be ready and waiting like the airports. Will be back again!

The car was okay. It was not completely clean from its previous use, but worked fine and was otherwise in good condition.

The late night drop off required a page of instructions to navigate the labyrinth of underground parking to locate the Avis parking spots. The route is only partially signed and allows no room for mistakes using the less than stellar treasure map.

The booking charges were misleading as the item breakdown under the total actually added up to more than totally. One can only guess as to why; perhaps a discount that was not itemized!? The car rental amount did not clearly state the rental amount in a 24 hour period which would have made it clear booking for a late night return could actually save a days charge-- if the booking system actually let me book with a late return and not just in the very restrictive hours the location was open. The attendant at the counter also did not suggest the earlier return is actually a cheaper booking and adjust it for me. If they had, Avis might have sold me on all my future bookings.

Overall Avis was no standout. They provided a good reliable car which is the least they could do to make me consider them the next time.

We travel to Sydney regularly and enjoy staying in the city so this car hire location is perfect!!!!! Considering its smack bang in the middle of the city the longest we waited was a mere 14 minutes.... to do anything with a vehicle in Sydney is difficult so I take my hat off to Chris and his staff for masterminding this service in the heart of bustling Sydney and with friendly service to boot. As regular return customers Chris and the guys know me and what my family require and booking now is a breeze. See you next time guys :)

If you return your car here: they give you a full page with instructions how to reach a certain area in a car park a few blocks away. And staff members there were not helpful, not at all. It's really a hassle, they should close this location.

Reasonably priced with a good selection of cars and friendly service. The garage is a touch difficult to get to, though, and the reliance on unfathomably old technology (check out their super old-school printers some time!) makes delays or mislaid paperwork a non-negligible probability.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Not only did they provide me with their great service but also took the time to help me with directions and were very informative of the city, where to go and what to do during my visit to Sydney.

I have been a frequent customer of AVIS for 2 years now. I decided to write a review and was disappointed to read all the negative and untrue comments made. The thing that disappointed me most was the lack of understanding for the geographical circumstances surrounding this particular branch. To all those who have placed negative reviews, in particular towards Chris, please take this advice, if you want to be served as soon as you walk in, have the car waiting out the front and still be in the centre of Sydney City then perhaps you should consider hiring a personal limo service.
AVIS World Square is the busiest rental car hire place in Sydney that I have personally come across. Their cars are parked in the basement on level 4, they are unable to hold all your desired cars in a condensed vicinity and therefore may need to do a car run to facilitate your request from time to time. Furthermore parking on a congested street is out of the question. Taking this all into consideration waiting 10-15 mins for service is not that bad. In my experience I have never had an issue. Every interaction with Chris has been pleasant. I too have experienced purchasing a GPS and then found there was one in the car, I called Chris and dropped it off to him out the front and he did not hesitate to assist me with a refund. I am a regular customer of Chris' and can honestly say that his level of customer service and understanding of your customer needs is a rarity in this day and age. There have been instances where I have come in and Chris has been almost a one man show due to being short staffed, even in those instances the longest I have waited was 30 mins, and even then I did not go unnoticed. If you are not a patient person or are one of those business people who are always "busy" and on the run, then perhaps you should catch a cab. Chris keep up the excellent work. I would follow you any where. Highly, highly recommend this place. The more you go there you start to build a good business relationship with the staff and the experience just becomes easier and better as time goes on.

Fast, efficient and helpful service. Reasonably priced for a major city location. Will definitely return on my next trip.

Amazing service from Steve, Janelle etc. We are a removalist company based at Freshwater and are always hiring trucks, Avis at Dee Why go out of their way to try to accomadate our needs, we also appreciate that the quoted price is always the final price with no hidden extras in comparison with other rental companies who seem to always have add on extras. I booked online to pick up the car at 10am . But the office close at 10:00. I was 5 mins late and the office was closed . Nobody call me in advance.

Luckily, Thriffty in Gladesvilles help me out and rent a car from them .

I WOULDNT EVEN GIVE IT 1 STAR. I specifically requested a manual transmission car, when I arrived they tried to upgrade me to an auto, but I required a manual to practice using a manual. WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE RESERVATION IF YOU DONT HAVE THE CAR I WANT. FALSE AND MISLEADING!!!!

(old review) There are quite friendly staff, but not all of them are friendly.

I recently went there and now they are nice and friendly, the staff member that wasn't friendly is not working there any longer. :)
