Human Books agree to meet patrons in the library and be available for borrowing. The Book is borrowed by a person or small group. Each session goes for 20 minutes, at which time the Book is ‘returned’ and is available for another patron to borrow.
The Book will have the opportunity to share their life story and experiences but will be guided by the questions of their patron.
The Human Library aims to reduce stereotypes and prejudice against those who are different from us and... promote respect for human rights and dignity.
A free presentation by Avondale Libraries and Friends of the Library.
Avondale Libraries (Lake Macquarie campus), 582 Freemans Dr, Cooranbong NSW 2265.

Pam Brown once said that "Dads are most ordinary men turned into heroes." We definitely agree with that, and want to wish an early Happy Father's Day to our heroes. We appreciate you, and we hope you enjoy your day (and get to take a day off hero duties.)
To show our appreciation, College Church is providing a special Father's Day breakfast just for the men; this Saturday, 9am at Rejuve Cafe.
We look forward to seeing all the men there!

The presentation of Avondale Alumni’s top awards at Homecoming 2018 will surprise Alastair and Jillian Macgillivray but not anyone who knows them. The couple are living examples of Avondale’s motto, “A Greater Vision of World Needs.”

We are thrilled to share that a few weeks ago, a group of Avondale students had the exciting opportunity to attend the University Scholars Leadership Symposium (USLS) held at the United Nations in Bangkok. The USLS is a week long program that focuses on training and equipping young leaders to create world change.
Here’s what one of our students Bianca Maggs had to say about it:
“I loved that the USLS gave me opportunities to share stories with other emerging young leaders in... their professions and facilitated opportunities for us to be able to share solutions that will eradicate poverty and ensure global sustainable development. I left the conference feeling empowered that I can use my passions and fields of study to make a positive contribution toward enhancing the lives of other people.”
We are 100% behind our students on this one! Keep up the good work team. #sdgs #globaldevelopment #unitednations

Celebrate the launch of a book telling the story of Seventh-day Adventist mission boats in the South Seas, the people who sailed them and the church they helped build.
Featuring: Author Rose-Marie Radley; Dr Graeme Humble, Director of Adventist Mission, Seventh-day Adventist Church in the South Pacific; and Nathan Brown, Book Editor, Signs Publishing.
Foyer, Clifford Tower... Sydney Adventist Hospital
Summary Since the earliest days of Seventh-day Adventist mission, reaching the people of the South Pacific has offered unique challenges. Vast oceans, remote islands and hostile populations, limited communications and the ever-present risks of tropical storms and diseases rendered this a region in which the gospel would only spread with longterm commitment.
Generations of expatriate and then local missionaries faithfully took up this challenge—supported by a growing fleet of mission boats of many shapes and sizes. Captain Jack Radley was one of the dominant figures in the development and heyday of the fleet, demonstrating the pioneering spirit that saw the Adventist Church established and growing in these island nations, as well as contributing to the medical and economic development of the region. As such, this carefully researched history of Adventist mission boats is also the story of the people who sailed them and the international church they helped build.
Book available at special launch price of $20 (a saving of $7.95).
Afternoon tea precedes launch at 4.30 pm.
Presented by Signs Publishing and Avondale Academic Press as part of Sydney Adventist Hospital’s Homecoming.

Excellent Christian higher education. The people here really care about your learning experience.

Student admin and the nursing department that you inquired for are not giving you right information. Just a waste of time. To all international students that are planning to study in Australia? this school is not for you! even if you are already citizen or resident in Australia for so long they require you to do the Ielts.
So don’t waste your time to inquire and submit requirements.

If you have certificate 3 and 4 in Australia they still require you to get Ielts. So please don’t waste your time to this school.

The free pen I received here is exceptional, much longer than the average pen and therefore it fits my hands nicely. Unfortunately, the pen has run out of ink and I am unable to make it back to the campus for the foreseeable future. I have tried other pens since but nothing can compare, I am distraught that such a beloved pen could be taken from me in such a manor. If only it could have had the hero's death it deserved, falling in honour on the battlefield or classroom.

So yeah if you are still producing the long pens a reply would be greatly accepted...
