About Sogyal Rinpoche.
Sogyal Rinpoche is regarded as one of the foremost representatives of Tibetan Buddhism in the West. His ground breaking book, The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, has sold almost 3 million copies in 80 different countries, and has been translated into 34 languages.

Sogyal Rinpoche was born in Tibet and served for many years as a translator and aide to his Tibetan masters. Since the early 1970s, Rinpoche has travelled widely, observing the reality of people’s lives, and has continually searched how to translate the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism so as to make them relevant to modern men and women of all faiths. Rinpoche is a frequent speaker at major conferences, addressing a wide variety of subjects, including medicine and healing, interfaith dialogue, peace and non-violence, business and leadership and care of the dying.

Rinpoche is the founder and spiritual director of Rigpa, an international network of over 130 Buddhist centres and groups in 41 countries around the world. Awake Sydney is organised by Rigpa Australia, a Buddhist organisation that has centres in seven cities and a distance learning program for those living in regional and remote Australia.

Rinpoche welcomes questions from his audience. You can submit questions on Facebook (Awake Sydney) or at contact@awakesydney.com. Rinpoche will endeavour to respond to as many questions as possible.
