Hit and miss.
Some of the entrees were quite nice and interesting, but you won't find popular favourites like garlic prawns or salt & pepper squid here. Spicy salami was a personal favourite, and meatballs is recommended if you have no teeth.
There wasn't much for children however. You wouldn't find "normal" greens here unless you've brought up your preteens on kale. But the slow cooked lamb belly turned out really well. Coupled with a side of equally scrumptious roasted potato halves that would've been an excellent choice for the kiddies. This main dish redeemed the so-so start.
The dessert was also very good, be it the gelato trio: vanilla, chocolate, and orange with basil sorbet; amazing tiramisu; or our mousse special.
But something was missing. Maybe the location was good and bad - tucked away in a quiet part of town, it lacked a bit of buzz. The one who served us was good but not great. She advised us the pasta with the meatballs for the kids were short. I asked, "what do you mean, like penne?" She said no, but that's pretty much what was served. She picked up we were going to share a main with the two kids and offered extra plates, yet only brought one, and without cutlery. Meant well, but slightly lacking in attention to detail. She could've made it great, but in the end like the food, hit and miss.
Maybe it deserved a 4 out of 5, but It just never quite reached anything memorable. Definitely 3 out of 4, but as it stands, I wouldn't recommend it as a must-try.
