If you came into the cafe today, you might have wondered why all of our staff (who are in their early 20's) made the decision to wear school dresses to work. Well, a girl in Sierra Leone is more likely to be sexually assaulted than she is to finish high school and it is not okay with us. So today we stood with One Girl in their mission to educate girls in Sierra Leone and Uganda. All we had to do was look a bit silly for a day, and a girl's entire life could change. Came first and my last time. Nothing was wrong in the beginning and I've ordered the smashed Avo.. after eating a quarter of it, I realised there was a worm in my food! We gave it back straight away. I wouldn't have rated it as bad is it's bad but it can happen.. what made me angry was that they took it back to the kitchen without saying anything and no one ever came to the table to apologise.. and when we went to pay for my friends food.. they've asked us if we want to pay together or seperate (I only had tab water). And I think that was pretty rude.. no one even apologised or offered me to bring me new or different food and then they wanted me to pay for it.. we didn't pay for it at the end but that was a really bad experience..
