Look at what our fab friends from the Rockdale Musical Society are up to. You've got that "Under the Sea" song in your head now right? (stop lying). Grab some tickets and come grab a pre show bite.

High fives for all the Daddy-o's who celebrated their Dad's Day with us yesterday, especially the famished Fathers who spent some quality time with a tomahawk πŸ‘. Thanks for popping by.

Thanks to all our friends who joined us for the first of our Tuesday Night Dinners. We saw some amazing food from a game showcase, to an all dessert affair, a quick trip to Nepal and Colin doing what Colin does. - Sept sees a Spring Menu sneak peek, a wine dinner ft. the Hilltops and Tumbarumba region, something for our vegetarian friends and we get into the Okto"beer"fest spirit. - Head to the Tuesday Night Dinner - September event for the line-up and booking details. 1 chef, 3 courses, 16 seats.

It's Springtime in the city and a new season means new produce which means new dish ideas popping up like dormant daisies in a garden.
We’re turning our cooking types loose again as our popular Tuesday Night Dinners continue to roll on. Last month saw game get 15 min of delicious fame, an all dessert affair, a one night trip to Nepal (for stomachs anyway), and Colin holding court with his cooking.
September sees grapes and grains getting a gig, a Spring sneak peak for keen ...beans and we make friends with salad. 1 chef, 3 courses, 16 seats.
The 4th sees us serving up a sneak peek of some of the new menu items that made the cut for our Spring menu and we cough up how the dishes came together and how they made it onto our upcoming Spring menu.
On the 11th we share the spotlight with the wines from Tumbarumba and Hilltops NSW as we whip up the eats to match 7 wines showcasing some of the regions best tipples including the award winning Moppity Vineyards and Coppabella. The dinner will be hosted by Moppity Estates Paul Roberts
We make friends with salad on the 18th as we serve one up for our vegetarian friends with 3 course of meat free magic as we put the humble vegetable on a pedestal to really give you with a taste of Spring, with no shortage of fresh, and vibrant varieties of veggies avail for the kitchen to flex with.
And to coincide with the start of Oktoberfest (it starts Sept 22nd and runs until Oct 7th), what else to do other than celebrate with German beer and food. Hearty, bold and more-ish, better break out the elastic waited lederhosen for this one.
With just 16 seats available per dinner, the opportunity for our clever culinary friends to dig into their bag of cooking tricks and tips has delivered some amazing food, which has only been matched by the response of our Tuesday Night Dinners guests.
Ever wondered what goes on inside a Chefs head (the cooking related stuff anyway)? Come and find out one Tuesday night.
SEPTEMBER 4th - Spring Menu Sneak Peek 11th - Wine Dinner ft Hilltops & Tumbarumba NSW hosted by Moppity Estates Paul Roberts (4 courses, 7 wine pairing $85) 18th - Making Friends with Salad (vegetarian) 25th - Oktobeerfest; German Beers & Food * program subject to change
2 courses - $45 3 courses - $55 (Wine available but not included).

Good luck to the 4fourteen team for their final service of an amazing run tonight. New adventures, setbacks, successes and stories await....

Don't let chuckles here fool you. When it comes to food he is all business. Santosh takes you on a trip to Nepal for our next Tuesday Night Dinner - Winter Program as he digs into his heritage to serve up momos, curried chicken and kulfis. Equal parts different (to what we normally do anyway) and delicious. Head to the event page for the menu and booking details.

If you parked this blue Audi to visit the pub or the bistro, please do not park on the street anymore.....because we have a carpark now. - We've made it easier for you to visit your friendly bar and bistro in Banksia with our new carpark, conveniently located next door. Guess we'll be seeing a little more of each other now....right?...guys?...

This is Mai and a Vic's Meat Market meat tray. When you order a drink or a meal tonight you'll get some raffle tickets to win one of them, but you'll have to be here to see which one.....

Good luck to all those flexing the grey matter at the Canterbury South Public School trivia night this Friday. With $12,000 (πŸ‘€) in prizes (inc. a voucher from some bistro in Banksia), if you're not going...uh, you probably should.

With tomorrow nights take 2 with Rob Daniels sold out, our Tuesday Night Dinner - Winter Program takes a sweeter turn with Valeria hosting an all dessert affair on Aug 14th. - While most of us were introduced to her cooking chops on television, these days Valeria’s cooking does all the talking. Valeria's knack for putting an exclamation mark on the end of meals with her desserts are quickly becoming the signature people are after. - Head to the FB event page for the menu an...d for booking info. - πŸ“Έ @ms.eva_pats

No great produce = No tasty food.
During August we're making parmas for farmers. $25 parmys for lunch or dinner, Mon-Sun with $5 of every parmy being collected to buy as many bales as we can to give farmers a helping hand.
... Help us add to the $200 we're going to kick things off with.

The selfless souls at Broadsheet Sydney went on a mission to suss out their fave sausage rolls for you, and our humble little suckling pig number made the list along with some other very tasty versions. πŸ™ Broadsheet Sydney.

I was pretty impressed when entering the hotel tonight the renovations were great and couldn't wait to sit down and enjoy a meal.

I have to say the Bistro experience was about the worst I have ever experienced, the staff were inattentive and when we requested the only salad on the menu as a main size this couldn't be done, the only solution was to order two and have it placed in once bowl.

Steak was cooked as I asked the but the dish was utter crap, 350gm steak on a plate with a dob of butter on it and 5 deep fried onion rings.... hardly worth the $32.00 - no side vegetables or salad! The onion rings were represented as deep fried otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it. Most other dishes I observed were mainly chips and meat placed on top. The steak had cooled too much so that the butter wasn't melting as it should have - really poor.

I have to call the waiter over to clear out table at it seemed they were too busy behind the bar mucking around with a balloon.

Overall a bad experience, bad service and in my opinion the Head Chef (if there is one there) needs to look at the menu and balance it with some vegies or salad.
