I was going to have my 30th here but the event manager, was really rude, lacked any sort of accommodating skills, and basically talked himself out of the gig. I've called to book it on more than one occasion and he never gets back to me, when I asked about drink packages he just goes on about it being a premium venue, that would not be able to offer a discounted drinks package, even after I was told by another guy working that they could do something on the beer and wine price. The place is gorgeous and the owners Tully and Jordan went out of their way to accommodate me and offered a free tasting dinner. Which was exceptional! I was all ready to book it but Simon didn't seem to want the business. He was really rude when I had to follow up and didn't get back to me for a second time. So I've had to book the back up option as he still hasn't followed up! Such a shame as this really would have been my idea location.

Delicious food! Such a great atmosphere. It's an office favourite now. Their aioli and orange vinegerette are made from unicorns and baby tears, it's that good!

I stopped by this restaurant in between Christmas & new year and I can express this is one of the best establishments in Newcastle. The service and the conversation I had with the male waiter who was one of the owners friends helping out was superve. He was so professional & friendly and made me and my family at home. The food was full of flavour and cultured. You can tell these owners want to make you feel like you are at there home over for lunch. I highly recommend families and people looking for a relaxing drink and great service to go here. Thank you basement for a wonderful memory

Had a cocktail before a function. It wasn't watered down which is a surprise for Newcastle. The dining area was cramped.

Although the food and cocktails were delicious I don't believe they were worth the wait. We had to wait over forty minutes for our cocktails and two hours for our entrees. We had asked for table water several times and the waitress had told us she would bring us water and than never did. After we got one of our entrees the waitress asked us to pick up our own plates and move inside and then asked us what we were waiting on, not just once but three times. After we finally got our last entree the waitress was very quick to remove our plates, even though some of us were still eating and using the dipping sauces. On the positive the bar staff were very polite and lovely.
