Introducing Krishna, the chef and business owner of Bavan Foods.

Krishna's story began in Eastern Sri Lanka, where he worked as Personal Assistant for the Minister of Batticul. One day the Minister brought up the idea that Krishna could cook for him and his office. Good words go around, and more and more people were coming to Krishna for his curry. He moved to Colombo to pursue his career in cookery, and eventually owned a little restaurant in the bustling city.
With more than 15 years of experience, Krishna then moved to Australia. He started working for Fiji Food Company, as well as cooking for Parliament on King Café's multicultural food events in Newtown. With so much positive feedback received, he decided to start his own business.

Krishna caters for any occasion, and already has regular clients including the University of Sydney and UTS, where he is famous for his savory eggplant curry. Krishna has also participated in Amnesty International's ‘Cooking Up a Storm’ in Bondi. Krishna's Market stall at Marrickville's Saturday Street Food Market has quickly become one of the most sought after cuisines the market has to offer.

Simply put, Krishna’s mission is to provide authentic home-style Sri Lankan food to the Australian people.
