Port Stephens is a beautiful place for a wedding. This weekend there were 2 near Bay Parklands. On Friday night a wedding party had their reception at the Little Beach Marina restaurant straight across the road from Bay Parklands. Very convenient for the guests that stayed at Bay Parklands. This afternoon, another wedding was held on the grass above Little Beach. Bay Parklands is pictured in the background of the last photo.
The unit is located a short walk or drive from Nelson Head, at the end of Halifax. The location is the site of an early lighthouse and the current site of the local NSW Marine Rescue base. There is a fantastic view of the port in both directions including the heads and out to se to the islands. A gift shop specialises in nautical items. There's a museum and a tea room. The tea room serves a Devonshire tea with 2 massive scones per serve. I recommend getting one between two people (you can always order another if you want) with an extra tea or coffee.
What fantastic weather we are having for the time of year. Why not have a little get away to beautiful Port Stephens, opposite Little Beach. The unit is available for rent for the June long weekend and some of the July school holidays. Pictures taken recenty at sunset from Little Beach. Now includes unlimited broadband for your stay.
Broughton Island is less than an hours boat ride from the Nelson Bay Marina which is a short car trip from the unit. Broughton Island is well known for it's permanent colony of Grey Nurse Sharks.
Unlike Wreck Bay, ascending to the top of Tomaree is hard work but well worth the effort.
One of the many short bush walks is to Wreck Bay, a beautiful beach that cannot be reached by car.
Who'd have known you could go camel riding less than a half hours drive from the unit.
