Great location and a wonderful selection of books.

Googled and the opening times were shown as open till 5 today. Drove up from Canberra and arrived at 3.30 only to be told that you close at 3.00 Friday Saturday and Sunday and jave been doing so for 4 years. Not Happy! If you can't be bothered updating your opening times in 4 years you don't deserve any business.

Lovely location. Great book selection. Disappointed in service for coffee. 11.30am. 1 cake choice. Burnt coffee and stern waitress. Out of all the empty tables only 3 available for coffee and they were not near the sun or the fire. Didn't feel welcomed. Great pity had driven from Sydney and had been looking forward to the break

We were there for lunch. Great service and environment. The place was packed yet we could still have a conversation with a normal voice. It was surprisingly quiet for how many people were there. Tables were packed in a bit tight. Could use a bit more room between table. We were bumped a few times and moved the table ourselves.
The woodfired slow cooked pulled pork pizza was nice. The thin crust was nicely cooked. The cheese, caramelized onion and pork worked nice some of the time but the parsley overpowered the taste mostly. There was no nice smoky wood flavour or aroma that you would expect from a woodfired pizza. The pork was also a bit hard and stringy in places.
The chicken skewers were soft and tender, had a lovely spicy aftertaste and the combination of the cracked grain had a beautiful smokey earthy taste. Really nice.
The burgers also looked amazing.
Prices are good. Our meals were between $26 to $30. With wine all up $70.
Overall a good experience and will go back to try the burger.
Recommended booking well beforehand and get a table near the fireplace would be nice.

On a sad rainy day you cannot do better than a fantastic lunch by a raging fire at Berkelouw. We were in seventh heaven with one of their Woodfired Pizzas and Signature Hamburger. YUM.

Really interesting collection of new and collectable books. The food is really well executed.

One of the best places to visit in the Southern Highlands. If you are not sure, just go there. Check opening times on Web site. Book a lunch spot around busy times.

Had a booking at 1pm but had to wait 15-20 minutes to be seated. Waited an hour for our meals to come out, while others who came around and after us were served and had finished their meals. The Gnocchi was really nice, I loved everything about it except that there was not enough. I was very hungry before and after the meal which really isn't justifiable given the high cost. All in all, a very disappointing experience given how good I was told it would be.
