About Biogill

BioGills are bioreactors that provide the perfect environment for microorganisms to thrive – above ground and surrounded by oxygen.

Biogill Description

BioGills use Nano-Ceramic Membranes™ folded to form a series of “gills”. These “gills” effectively operates as both a “stomach” and a “lung”. Wastewater is gravity fed down the “gills” where bacteria and fungi “eat” waste out of the water and “breathe” air to multiply and grow.

The result of this approach is a treating biomass of 10 to 15 times more effective in breaking down waste. In just 24 hours, BioGills can achieve to 96% reductions in Biochemcial Oxygen Demand (BOD), a widely used indication of the organic quality of water.
