I just had to repost this! This is after birth, this is postpartum and this is a woman postpartum. Just as it took time to grow and nourish your baby, it takes time for your body to nourish itself and find itself again after birthing. Your body is amazing - never, ever forget that!

The beautiful transition from womb to world is called the 4th trimester.
Being gentle with yourself and your baby during this time will benefit you both. The fourth trimester is something that we often don’t prepare for or think of, it’s important to take your time and get to know your baby, reconnect with yourself and get to know yourself as a mother and family.

The postpartum period is something many of us don’t plan for or think of after a baby. In my classes I ensure new parents are supported, and have great understanding of the postpartum period.
Nurture and nourish during this time, build your village and discuss the postpartum period (plan it). Don’t be afraid to ask for help or any other needs during this time.
“Build your village (whatever that may look like for you) and ensure that you are nurtured and nourished in the same way you will look to nourish and nurture your new baby.”

On September 8th I’ll be heading to the Doula Network Confrence in Sydney. I’m really proud to be able to represent @CUB Comfortable Upright Birth at the conference and as the Australian ambassador.
