Blacksmith Mona Vale, Cafe Catering & Functions

We went for Sunday breakfast.

The fit out is very much one of a blacksmith. The food, coffee and service were all good.

Will definitely be back.

Coffee rating- take away coffee was way to hot, small cup was ‘ very small’ and at $3.80 . Don’t want to be harsh but easy to fix if it’s known.
I did not eat there.

Good food at a reasonable price. Cozy atmosphere if you get the right table, very good service, steam punk deco. Nice lunchtime experience.

Good but nothing spectacular. Liked how they pulled the theme through pretty much everything, though slightly overwhelming.

A bit on the expensive side. But food is good and tasty here. The selection varies from hearty breakfasts to light lunches. Waiters and waiterses although change often, always offer a smile and do try hard to make you feel welcome. Coffee is great. Kids are all around but not intrusive to other customers. I like it here.

Whilst the food is excellent - especially the Hot Chocolate on Coconut Milk .... absolutely YUM... I feel the seating needs to be changed. Yes they are going for the rustic olde time blacksmith atmosphere, however it is 2017 and seating needs to be comfortable. The bench seats are the best choice for that. Some extra cushioning would be great.

Have been going to Blacksmiths on and off as long as they have been open, took an interstate friend there for breakfast, ordered and specifically said NO PEPPER OR CHILLI ON MY WIFES FOOD PLEASE, the waitress wrote it down and out comes the food with pepper on the tomato, my wife has had a throat operation and pepper or chilli close her throat, we asked for it to be changed and out comes cold tomato sliced twice, if my wife had a turn from the pepper will they pay the bills, ambulance and medical, doubt it. Other than that the coffee is terrific.

Best fish n chips on the Peninsula.
Pretty good soup too. Pleasant staff.

Update back to 5 stars as they gave told me they do the coffee my partner was always getting- may have been confusion or they changed back to it. Either way it's a winner!

They also have a new menu out (I forgot to grab a photo) and it looks great.

Loved the new menu!! Best experience ever. Recommended!!
