Blacktown Hospital

Does not even deserve a single star. Some of the staff at maternity ward are lazy and incompetent. Informed them my wife was having 1-2 minute contractions at less than 5-mintute intervals. They did not seem to believe me and just asked me if there was a green discharge coming out. Five minutes later, they were bothered by the noise coz my wife’s in severe pain. One staff then touched my wife’s belly and told us “She’s ok.” and advised my wife to stop pushing. They then moved my wife to the birthing unit, I believe just because of the noise, with a face looking at us sarcastically coz they don’t believe that baby’s coming out. They didn’t even do an IE the whole time we were there. Immediately after arriving at the birthing unit, I can already see the head of the baby and in 2 minutes, my wife delivered. I mean, what are these guys doing? Are they gonna wait for meconium stain to happen before they were gonna send my wife to the birthing unit?! Totally disappointed. And to think, this is not a 3rd world country but the standards are embarrassing.

Had a small procedure at the hospital on Thursday 23rd November - could not have been happier with the service that I received. Staff in the Cath Lab were so friendly and very helpful. All staff and doctors on the day were very nice. Hospital should be amazing when it is finished.

Had an incident last night Saturday 25/11/2017 huge thank you to staff paramedics doctors for the fast caring professional treatment given to our granddaughter Corrine we had a great outcome thanks again for kindness

Have been here 3 times in the past 12 months, once with each child, thorough emergency with suspected broken bones.
As fast as expected for a Friday and Saturday night, the Wednesday nigh was only 2 hours to be seen and xray done then 2 hours to get the cast.
Overall, Happy with the service received and would use again if i needed too

Great nurses and doctors. Thankful for them spending their lives making sure we are all healthy!

ESPECIALLY THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT..SHORT STAY AND RADIOLOGY, CAME IN LAST WEEK SATURDAY WITH CHEST PAINS AND WAS IN A TERRIBLE PANIC, THE CARE GIVEN TO ME WAS OUTSTANDING, AND EVEN THOUGH VITAL SIGNS AND CHEST X RAY'S WERE ALL GOOD THEY STILL BOOKED ANOTHER APPOINTMENT AT RADIOLOGY TODAY TO MAKE SURE THERE WERE NO UNDERLYING PROBLEMS AND WHAT A LOVELY STAFF THERE..
THANK YOU AGAIN..I WILL NOT LISTEN TO ANY NEGATIVE TALK ABOUT THIS HOSPITAL.....LOUISE WELLS

I was at the MRI Imaging on 18/9/17, and can honestly say I was treated extremely courteously, and the staff were of the utmost help! Very impressed.

I would like to thank the Doctors and Staff at Blacktown Hospital that looked after me during my visit to the emergence department at Blacktown Hospital. I had come off my motorbike and broken ribs in a fall. The Doctors and Staff could not do enough for me and provided a high degree of care to my wellbeing.

Nearly died but thanks to the beautiful stuff of Blacktown Hospital and Ambulances im still alive....the dealings ive experience here is tops..i can't fault them at all and the nurses have been helpful and understanding...i think at the end of the day its how you respect the doctors and nurses for what they do for you... you will get treated the same and enjoy the experience at Blacktown Hospital..

Came in through emergency everything went ok waited 2 days for surgery after surgery no doctors came to visit me the nurses basically discharged me they were so rude at the womens ward the surgical ward had nice friendly nurse but after transferred into women ward after surgery the nurses kept getting ruder and ruder. Anyways by that point was I was in a lot of pain they couldn't help so I just wanted to go home was a horrible recovery atmosphere would not recommend this hospital. When I arrived to that ward after being transferred everyone around me wanted to leave now I know why just after being there for a few hours. I really do wish a doctor came to visit me after surgery like they have in the past at all other hospitals tell me the post care not even the nurses told me post care nothing like that was done was a horrible experience. Two Chinese? Asian heritage nurses at the womens health ward b46 were the rudest nurses ever. Really hope no one experiences this while being in so much pain.

Horrible doctors in emergency. Went in for a complication after surgery that reduced my partner to sobbing, unable to move 10 out of 10 pain. Was told they can't do anything and not their problem because we need to speak to surgeon, who can't see us for 2 days. Didn't even bother to scan or check of anything had gone wrong. I asked "What so we just go home and she lies there in excruciating pain for 2 days unable to sleep, move or even go to the bathroom herself?" Doctor said "Well it's not my area not my surgery go speak to the surgeon. Nothing I can do." Awful. Left and went elsewhere and my partner was actually treated PROPERLY and the problem was found. When we asked the name of the doctor that "treated" her, they refused to give us her name! Short red haired, bigger woman. Would never go back here. Westmead Hospital from now on.

A hospital psychiatrist I seen there one time isn't fit to hold a licence if she's up to understanding the reasons behind people's emotional issues. I would conclude this is an example where not there are hardly any friendly ones left but also errors are something not many who work in healthcare learn by. As for this psychiatrist I seen what she was critical of what she said to me of my emotional problem, she made quite a bad mistake.

Very rude staff in emergency unit. They don't seem to have a genuine interest in helping people. They lack people skills and don't make you feel at ease at all.
