Blacktown Meals On Wheels

Blacktown Meals on Wheels is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes independent living by providing healthy and affordable home-delivered meals.

In-Home Meal Delivery:

Our meals are purchased from professional, accredited suppliers and are delivered to your home between 10 am to 12 noon.

Five days a week our friendly volunteers deliver more than just a nutritious meal, they help change the lives of our clients by having a chat and saying hello.

We offer meals to suit your personal requirements and can accommodate special dietary needs, cultural and taste preferences.

To find out if you, a relative, or friend is eligible to use Meals on Wheels, please call our centre. A representative will discuss your needs to work out a food plan.


Social Group Days:

Meal on Wheels also provides social group days where our clients enjoy a hot, nutritious 3-course meal and a fun day of socialising.

Joining social group is a great way to get out, meet new people and share in a day of activities including bingo, scrabble, cards, dominoes, raffles and lucky door prizes.

Social group dayss are held at both our Blacktown and Mount Druitt on the following days-

Blacktown- Monday, Thursday, Friday.
Mount Druitt- Monday, Wednesday.
Riverstone- 1st Monday of the month (in partnership with Riverstone Neighbourhood Centre).

Specific social days are also held for the following groups-

Maltese Day- 1st Tuesday of each month.
Chinese Day- 2nd Wednesday of each month.
Filipino Day- 4th Wednesday of each month.
Vision impaired- Every Friday at Mount Druitt.

Transport is available for most social group days.


Eligibility:

Frail, older people (aged 65 years and over or 50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people), people with dementia and who need assistance with daily living to remain living independently at home and in the community.

Access to services is available through My Aged Care, the Australian Government entry point to the aged care system. My Aged Care will conduct a holistic assessment and identification of long term goals. Contact 1800 200 422 for more information.
