If you are lucky enough to catch a fish from #CarcoarDam this Summer, you will notice a small, thin yellow tag on it containing an ID number. These numbers have been placed there by the Department of Primary Industries - Fisheries to encourage recreational fishing as part of their restocking program. When you report this number you will receive a free lure for your troubles and you will be helping Fisheries to monitor ecosystem activity in the dam. Paul Toole, Blayney Fishing Club, President Tom Williams and the team from Fisheries released 500 rainbow trout yesterday and will release a further 500 Wednesday morning. Visitors and media enjoyed watching and having a unique experience of releasing fish into the dam. Orange360 Visit Orange #fishing #warmwelcome #historicvillages #Blayney

Construction began yesterday on the new Skate park for Blayney at the Heritage and Adventure Playground. Member for Bathurst Paul Toole and Mayor Scott Ferguson were joined by Blayney High School students for the 'turning of the first sod' to officially start construction works. It is expected the skate park will be ready for use by local and visitors in the next school holiday period. Funding for the project made available by the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities program Round 1. #Blayney #Warmwelcome

To commemorate local soliders who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the Great War (WW1) 8 new bridges in #Blayney & #villages will be named after them. Here is a brief profile on the names chosen after extensive research from the Blayney Shire Local and Family History Group working with @BlayeyShireCouncil and the sub-branches of the RSL.
