‘The Footscray winters and the glorious liniment-scented afternoons. All of the laughs, the scraps, the yarns and the characters: they all left a mark on me. And I wouldn’t change any of it.’ —Bob Murphy

"This book is fraught with near unbearable tension, and things get very dark and scary at times. Opening with a tragic and terrible act of violence, readers are propelled on a frantic chase towards a real game-changer of an ending. I am so very keen for the next book in this series." - staff review of Liar Liar by James Patterson and Candice Fox

"It’s three novels a year at the moment and I’m actually finding it a good pace. It keeps the pressure on!" - Candice Fox

"I could describe A Superior Spectre as speculative fiction, or a timeslip novel, or a dystopian novel, or a feminist novel but none of these would do. It is all and none of these. Meyer shrugs off neat categorisations. It is not her way." - staff review of Angela Meyer's new novel A Superior Spectre

We all have our comfort zone and it’s a nice place to be. Bron loves fantasy, John loves dead people and Sarah always goes back to her ‘old favourites’. This week on Booktopia On we discuss the importance of reading outside your comfort zone and how to do so if you’re feeling reluctant. Don’t forget to join us every Wednesday at 11am for more bookish fun.

A huge congratulations to our buddy Trent Dalton! His incredible debut novel Boy Swallows Universe has just been snapped up by the HarperCollins Global Publishing Program 🎉🎉

User

We cannot recommend this book enough! A Superior Spectre is a highly accomplished debut novel about our capacity for curiosity, and our dangerous entitlement to it, and reminds us the scariest ghosts aren’t those that go bump in the night, but those that are born and create a place for themselves in the human soul.

Don't buy their ebooks :( Unfortunately it only supports Adobe Digital Editions, and that app doesn't work very well (the size of the text won't change and the page won't turn) and does not have any support at all... that isn't Booktopia's fault, but when I asked for a refund the customers service said that they can't... It was such a waste of money :/

User

I love booktopia! I can always get what I'm looking for and it ships fast and always in perfect condition.

User

Ordered a book that said it would take 7-10 days to be delivered. Ended up taking 48 days. Was never notified about any delays.

User

Do NOT buy from this company.
It's been 1 month and my book has not arrived and it's impossible to reach them through customer service. Starting to feel like this is a scam.
Book Depository is much better

User

Having made many orders from Booktopia, I thought it was time to write up a quick review. Although each order was successful and smooth, there was one, in particular, that really topped the service off for me. Between Christmas and New Year's I made an order for a DVD. The order came in the next day. I was quite impressed.

Booktopia really stands out with regards to quality, service and speed in handling. I highly recommend them.

As for the 4 stars, that's only because I don't find them to be the cheapest. Otherwise, great service.

User

The book I ordered was "Out of Stock" but then proceeded to come in 2 days which was a very pleasant surprise but makes me question the accuracy of their online stock numbers. Otherwise product came well packaged, fast, and the whole experience is pleasant

User

ordered 2 books online. i paid for it. they sell books that they dont have in stock. i waited and item did not arrive on date stated. i asked to cancel my order yet they did not cancel the order i waited for my money for a week but instead they sent the item rather than refunding my money.. after a week a delivery came inside is the book we no longer needed. worst is that only 1 book inside the deliver.. booktopia give me my money back!!!!!!!

User

Super quick turnaround, order the books on Wednesday morning and they were delivered by Thursday. Great range of textbooks as well as fiction.

User

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Ordered a book a month ago still haven't received!
Have tried to call customer service for 2 weeks straight and can't get through. Have sent 4 emails where is my book???!!! Nothing.
Don't ever use them a joke of a company

User

Ordered a few books in April and still waiting july 18th not happy at all. No messages replies to no calls answered and no email ever replied to. Customer service is disgusting and having to chase them is becoming increasingly difficult.

User

I have placed my order nearly a month ago. I still have not received the book. Now they don't even reply to my messages. Will never buy a book again from Booktopia.

User

DO NOT PURCHASE E-BOOKS FROM BOOKTOPIA. I had a terrible experience trying to purchase an e-book. I have an e-book reader, but to receive the e-book from Booktopia, I had to first download Adobe Book Editions. None of this was made clear before making the actual purchase. I followed all the instructions, but I could never actually download the ebook. I spent about an hour trying to download it. I tried for assistance via their "chat-line", but this was totally useless. I asked for a refund, but got the usual line, "sorry, we don't give refunds". Meanwhile, I could have bought the same book on AMAZON for half the price. So... my advice USE AMAZON, DON"T USE BOOKTOPIA TO BUY AN E-BOOK.

User

Brilliant selection - books always arrive quickly and in great condition!

I don't even bother with bookstores anymore. If it's not on kindle I buy from booktopia!!!

User

Booktopia has been my go-to for buying books for the last four years since discovering them. Full satisfaction. This is what a business should be.

User

The best online service. I am kept up to date with my delivery. One of three books was a christmas gift and arrived with in a few days of ordering last week. I will always use Booktopia for book purchases
