Tip 1. How to Wash a Composite Deck
First, use a broom or leaf blower to blow the debris off the deck’s surface. After that, you can wash the deck using the following method:
1. Pour hot water on the deck 2. Let sit for 5-10 minutes 3. Work in with soft bristle broom 4. Pressure wash / rinse down with hot water (preferred) 5. Squeegee water off the deck with a squeegee broom 6. Mop any wet areas with a clean sponge mop
... Tip: A watering can filled with hot water can guide the water better than a bucket.
Tip 2. Remove Discolorations and Stains A natural composite deck can lose its luster with time since ultraviolet rays from the sun can break down the deck’s wooden structure. Dark stains caused by oil or beverages can be easily cleaned with water and soap. Various products are available that can deal with stains and discolourations.
