Service here is exceptional and food is on point! Been here a few times now and staff are really friendly, don't believe the reviews saying otherwise. Highly recommend the bacon sandwich!

Was great but baguette quality has fallen and prices have gone up. Slow service and cramped. Delicious sandwiches but expensive cakes. Prices becoming an issue as quality no longer justifies it and bread consistency varies too much between batches.

Had a great time on a Sunday morning. Was welcomed and greeted by almost every staff in the shop which was a nice beginning to the day. Coffee was great, food was straight forward and tasty good. Love the music they play in this vintage looking house, nice atmosphere.

There is no star possible for the service that we received this morning. Girl at counter literally put our bread in a bag crumpled the top and shoved it at us without a smile, even a grunt would've been a better acknowledgement. And to old mate with a little pony tail/rats tail who thinks he is the coolest person in the world, like the reviewer said before a polite hello, smile, friendly welcome and basic customer service will go a long way. if the coolest thing you do is manage the door at brick fields which is why you give the customers so much attitude tip: get a job you actually love and it will show you love it
Aside food and bread is the best shame about the personnel makes for unpleasant after taste in your mouth

I went for coffee and a danish with my 2 year old daughter. Coffee was superb and the blueberry danish was excellent. We were met by attentive staff who got us seated and organised.

Lovely place with indoor and outdoor seating. Sandwiches there were great - had the bacon and pork belly ones, as was the coffee. Probably not the most baby friendly for indoor seating (they don't have baby chairs and it's high tables) but otherwise, a wonderful shop run well.

The WORST service I've experienced. Not only in Sydney but I'd go so far as Australia!
After owning an extremely successful 400 seater restaurant, I understand the importance of customer service & satisfaction.
• We weren't greeted upon arrival, not even an acknowledgement or smile.
• We waited with no menu's/water for 15minutes.
• When our orders came trickling out individually, 2 of them had to be taken back because our surly young waitress got them wrong.
• We had to go behind the counter ourselves to get cutlery as our food was cold from waiting for them.
• When paying and finally getting out of there we weren't thanked or even acknowledged when handing over our money.
Truly disgusting service that should be reported. To the OWNER: why don't you actually hire people that want to work for you & treat other people as human beings.
A smile, a thank you & an acknowledgment doesn't take a lot.
It didn't surprise me there were so many reviews similar to mine.
#consumeraffairs should be notified.

Amazing food, fantastic coffee, a niche corner and courteous staff. Will be visiting this place again.

Visited Brickfields this morning to be told there were no brownies, sad for us, though not a complaint worthy problem. We next asked for a slice of the flourless chocolate cake - the attendant politely proceeded to serve us, though was interrupted by another server who told him it was not on offer to us, as the cake had not yet been cut - again not a problem. We ordered a coffee and waited patiently, before a server impolitely asked us to wait outside for our order (despite the light rain that was building momentum outside). We waited patiently, though there remained patrons inside the cafe, waiting for their coffees - they had presumably not been asked to wait outside, or had perhaps ignored the ludicrous request. After ten minutes, we asked the same server if our order had been prepared, however she drily told us that orders that had been submitted before ours were still being completed - funny, given the fact that we had watched three sets of customers who had been served after us, take their drinks and subsequently leave. We re-entered the cafe, much to the dismay of the server, who proceeded to stare at us. We asked the barista about the status of our coffee and were told it had already been dispensed, conveniently to two patrons who arrived 10 minutes after us, and were located in the exact spot we had been asked to vacate. We asked for our coffee to be remade, and were told it would be delivered shortly. I've done the hospo circuit, so I'm well aware mistakes happen. But no guest should ever be marginalised, (let alone regular guests...) and sent to wait outside while others are permitted to stay inside. If this is the case, at least attempt a smile, or some version of courtesy rather than treating your guests as though they have asked for the key to the city. We eventually received our order, though instead of remorse it was delivered with an eye roll and and hostility. Thanks Guys, Namaste.

Amazing coffee, breads and sweet pastries here. The seeded ciabatta is possibly the best roll you can get in Sydney. The sandwiches made here are also good but can be a bit oily.

Seating at the cafe itself can be a bit tricky and you may end up sharing benches outside with people but it's still a great place for a coffee.

The food has been great so far for the times I've been here. Only downside is that it is sometimes a bit too oily. Also, there's not much seating around..
