BROTHERS IN BEAT comprises professional tap dancers BEN READ and GARON MICHALITSIS.

The duo partnered to raise the bar on tap dance entertainment and to bring high quality tap dance back to Newcastle; Australia’s home of tap and the birthplace of the internationally acclaimed tap dance production TAP DOGS.

BEN and GARON are Novocastrians and ex-Tap Dogs. BEN being an originating member of the cast which premiered as part of the 10th anniversary of the Sydney Festival at the Sydney Theatre Company in 1995.

BEN and GARON have performed across the globe including performances at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, Quincy Jones 50th Anniversary Special performing alongside Stevie Wonder, The Princes Trust at Royal Albert Hall in London and dozens of corporate functions including the 100th Anniversary Gala Performance for the NRL and half time entertainment at the San Francisco 49ers at Candlestick Park. Most recently Brothers in Beat have performed at the Thomson Reuters' Recruitment Excellence Awards 2013 at the Art Gallery of NSW and the Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance Ball 2014.
