Hailing from Auckland, New Zealand Steve Supple was not always the eyebrow guru he is known as today. Originally he trained in the performing arts having won a placement at one of London’s most renowned institutions, The Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts.
On completion of his degree he had a successful career as a dancer, most notably performing in the West End production of Starlight Express, the UK tour of Crazy For You, Royal Variety Performances, The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, an entertainer on Princess Cruises, a dancer with Wayne Sleep and in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 50th Birthday Performance at the Royal Albert Hall, London.
After years in show business Steve turned his attention to personal grooming and pursued a career as a beauty therapist where he could utilize his high regard for personal grooming and attention to detail. After training at The London College of Beauty Therapy he opened his own business in central London specializing in treatments for men.
It wasn’t long before he was offered the opportunity to manage one of London’s biggest and most reputable salons, Michaeljohn in Mayfair and from there he moved to work with International stylist, Trevor Sorbie, in Covent Garden.
As time went on Steve decided that he wanted to return to a more personal, one on one relationship with his clients and upon invitation a role was created for him within the renowned Shavata Brow Studio, at the Urban Retreat in London’s famous Harrods. It was here that he developed his reputation as a specialist technician, designing eyebrows with wax and tweeze methods, as well as tinting and lash work.
Steve worked alongside Shavata assisting with the development of the business and soon they were opening a second Brow Studio outside London, within the Harvey Nichols department store in Manchester. It was while working within the Brow Studio that he studied and honed the art of threading, an ancient hair removal technique that is most sort after in Europe.
Becoming recognized as one of London’s most sought after brow technicians whilst working with Shavata’s Brow Studio, Steve maintained a celebrity cliental including pop stars, television personalities and models as well as faithful devotees that flocked to see him for his expertise, professionalism, personality and attention to detail.
Steve is very proud to have been part of Shavata’s foundation team and after relocating from London to Sydney, has been very excited at how his skills and passion have been welcomed, by a very loyal cliental this side of the globe and proudly featured in all major National Fashion & Health magazines.
After 5 years associated with the Joh Bailey Salon in Myer and 2 years with the LATTOUF Hair & Day Spa, in Sydney’s CBD, Steve is thrilled to now join the talented & accomplished Artists at ICONIC Stylists, where he is confident the combination of excellence, individuality, professionalism and friendship will create an experience you won't want to leave!
