Bubble Bay Soapmaking Workshops Description
Hello everyone my name is Andy, I am originally from Italy, but been in byron for a while now!
I have been making natural soap for a couple years, experimenting a lot of different approaches to soapmaking, attending workshops, teaching, and selling at markets and to friends.
I'm offering 1on1 or small groups hands-on soap making workshops in my apartment in Ewingsdale.
The soap we are going to make is CP (cold process) and can be done with very basic kitchen tools and as few or as many ingredients as you want (I can teach other soapmaking processes on request, like hot process soap, swirl soap or liquid soap making)
If you want you can create under my supervision your own recipe using the oils, essential oils, natural colorants and additives that I have, and also put some nice ingredients from my garden too, like aloe vera gel and lemon juice!
My objective is to create simple but effective recipes made using sustainable and chemical-free ingredients. I think everyone should make their own soaps as it is and feels so much better than any product on the market and with a small batch you can go on for ages!
Feel free to contact me to book a workshop! I might be able to set it also on other dates.
What you will learn:
what soap is and why it cleans
how to calculate a soap recipe with SAP values (most of the soapmaking courses just give you a recipe to follow) and how to use Soapcalc
safety rules when soapmaking
saturated vs unsaturated oils in soapmaking
Safety rules when handling Sodium Hidroxyde (Caustic Soda)
Making soap
I will provide all the needed materials and tools; the workshop lasts between 3 and 4 hours. The cost of the workshop is 100$, way cheaper than any soapmaking workshop in Australia!
Thanks a lot! : )

Here is the coffee soap created the other day! Looks good, smells good and scrubs even better! :)
Done some soap with Ty today... really cool experiment with coffee grounds in the recipe, as he is a barista :)
Today we made soap with recycled used (filtered) cooking oil! Great for the environment also because waste oil is such a problem and if you make soap with it it becomes totally biodegradable :) We used the Hot process so the soap can be used straight away after cooked!!
