Bunnings Port Stephens

One of my local Bunnings Stores. Great and knowledgeable staff, but could do with a wider range of stock. Still, a pretty good store

Seems to be alot of unrest & not a pleasant atmosphere in some departments . Its a shame .

Best. Bunnings. Ever. I live in Maitland, but was up here for the day, so decided to pop in there since I was passing. The garden centre was so much better than my usual bunnings. The range seemed bigger and the plants looked so much healthier. The other great thing was having the pavers and other hard landscaping in the garden centre instead of right up the other end - plus theu had a bigger range in pabers too. Worth the extra driving if you're planning to go big on plants etc.

I am a hsc student in my last year at school. Went to go pick up a special order and was mucked around being told i had to provide a reciept that should be in the system to take home wood i had already purchased 1-2 months earlier. Was brought to tears and to a meltdown because staff was not listening to what i had to say. Very poor customer service!!

Trying to get some flyscreen cut I had to get the SO desk to page for assistance (you're not allowed to cut yourself). After 10 mins nobody came. Paged again and still nobody came. Approached staff member and he said he'd get someone...nobody came. Eventually found another staffer who reluctantly came and cut it. Nearly 1/2 hour wasted.
Another time I phoned to enquire about a stocked item and it took 20 minutes of hanging on the phone trying to get transferred to the right dept. Eventually was told there was no one available. Asked to speak to store manager but he wasn't there. Deputy manager....she'd gone home. The worst Bunnings by far.

Only 1 star so I can comment. Ventured to salamander bay store this morning to purchase flooring. After standing around for 20 minutes decided to go to special orders desk where we stood for another 15 minutes. After still no acknowledgement took it upon myself to ask was there someone on flooring . Response was "oh Drew should be around somewhere a roll of the eyes then said I'll call try find out where he is. Was told he would be 2 minutes. Waited around for another 15 minutes. Finally loaded our trolley up ourselves with the flooring and underlay. Quite difficult manoeuvring trolley with this load however not one staff member offered any help. Finally got flooring I to the car came back into the store to purchase plumbing only to be told by a salesperson ( when asked where we might find a cistern) " I don't have a clue. They have rearranged the store. I have no idea! We finally found what we where looking for after getting some advice from another customer. Went to checkout to pay for items with a universal visa gift card. Checkout girl had no idea what it was or how to make the payment. Then escorted to customer service where we made our payment. Thank god to get out of that store! Mmmmm where to go next time we need flooring to finish our bedrooms. Most harrowing frustrating experience from this store. Hope they aren't all like that. Maybe some training in " customer service wouldn't go astray".

The customer service here over the past 8 to 12 months has gone dramatically down hill. The attitude of staff is on the cusp of being nothing but rude. It's a struggle to find any form of assistance. Then once you've found what you're looking for they're out of stock.
