very bad place. Kids are noisy and all bullying each other. Staffs do not even care. Limited learning space. Lack of resources
I used to go there after school since it was just across the street (Burwood Public) but it was extremely loud, I used to never think much about it and just went on with my day but after I entered High School I realised it's too loud to study in and there are just kids EVERYWHERE especially right after school. The fees are too expensive and there are a limited space.
Don't get me wrong, Burwood Library is amazing and is very clean, when they dont have a book they'll order it from another library but it's not a very good place to go if you're studying for a big exam or trying to study.
This is an excellent library and has a wide range of books, comics, DVD's and music CD's. The wi-fi is free and there are alot of places to study and read quietly. If you are a Burwood local be sure to apply for membership, or even if you are just a visitor to Sydney stop in and have a read and use the free Guest Pass to use the computers.
There are some people who is in public school near as Burwood, noise, running and screaming. I hope they change the kids area cause it is too close to the quiet area room. ohh and please make spare spot and you guys should get more books for junior high school student .
BRO so listen i needed a hectic place to studyy n dat like when i mean study there were people there doing advanced english like cuzzy like how is there more letters in the alphabet
Very helpful local history staff. All the other staff were very professional and polite. We called ahead about our project and they had resources ready for us when we got there. Helen was terrific. Such a great community resource and support.
It's a library for god sake. There's separate area for you to make noises with your kid; and also for your kids to shout about - outside. If you want to chit chat, go to the cafe or elsewhere. Not to be stereotyping , but most of them are Asian that make these noises.
No wonder low rating. Some staff service manner too bad, seems their managers are blind and corrupt, only care about money and outside decorations. At service desk, the Indian looking elder lady librarian talk to people with unwelcome manner and harsh tone, others also have mentioned on google review. And this public library become gold digger,by ask you to pay for join and renew old membership, which is ridiculous and unfair to taxpayer. By compare with many other decent public libraries (they free membership) in NSW, the overall experience of service here at Burwood is worst.
Worst library ever.
They renovated it and it looks good, but the staff is terrible.
So unfriendly! I can't believe they employ people like them!
The library itself is not bad. The interior is modern and clean. The range of books isn't big but sufficient. The study space is limited, but comfortable.
However, the worst problem is the noise level. The library has a children play area, with shrieking babies and toddlers running around. The parents don't control their children and the librarians don't care. There is no noise regulation, people speak as loud as they please. I don't feel like it's a library environment at all. It's more like a community centre.
