The Business Growth Centre (BGC) is a ‘Not for Profit’ Business Enterprise Centre, Business Incubator and Registered Training Organisation (RTO No. 90929)

The Centre's purpose is to support and grow small and micro businesses in the Lake Macquarie local government area.

There are four key services offered at the Centre:

Business Incubator
As a Business Incubator, BGC provides support services to tenants. Facilities include 12 light industrial units and 9 offices. To assist and encourage business start-ups, rent is offered at below commercial market rate and leases can be short or long term. Support services offered to tenants include secretarial, bookkeeping, marketing and business planning, as well as mentoring on an informal basis.

Registered Training Organisation
As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), BGC offers nationally accredited training in business at Certificate IV and Diploma levels. The courses offered include:

• Certificate IV in Small Business Management
• Certificate IV in Frontline Management
• Certificate IV in Business Sales
• Diploma of Management

Non accredited training, workshops, and seminars are also offered to assist tenants, business owners and business managers to develop their businesses. In support of our members and tenants, BGC also runs regular networking events.

Business Advice & Services
As a BEC the Centre is recognised as the first and best point of contact for small business operators seeking quality business information, advice and guidance. Whether starting a new business or improving an existing business, the BGC can provide the support and help required. The business services include:

• Energy Efficiency Advice

Business Membership & Partnership Programs
The Business Growth Centre offers a Business Membership and Partnership program to encourage a community of shared services. Members of the BGC enjoy a number of benefits including complimentary consultations / mentoring sessions, access to networking events, workshops and seminars and access to business insights and information on a regular basis.
