Brilliant displays of tea pots and presented beautifully. An excellent spot for a delish cup o' tea. The owner was friendly and very helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

Good range to Tea and food. You can book a high tea and it is much cheaper than a lot of other places. The sandwiches were very fresh and the staff were very friendly.

Perfect. We had a lovely time at Bygone Beautys. We booked in for the 2-for-1 Swagmans Lunch, which is a choice of soup, devonshire tea (2 big scones, jam and cream), and coffee. Atmosphere was nice, food tasty, service prompt, museum packed full of interesting teapots. Price of the lunch includes entry to the museum. Even if you're not interested n teapots, it's well worth visiting for a snack and something a little different.

Lovely tea shop with an outrageous amount of teapots / china etc... for sale. Called in on the off chance on the way to Sydney from the Blue Mountains. Quirky, different & unusual. Nice tea / cakes & light meals too. Didn't get to see the museum.

A cozy place filled with everything tea.

They don't have a large menu and mostly are dessert and light meal to go with your tea or coffee.

The dinning area are clean and bright, salt & pepper and menu are provided on every table, however it would be nice to be offered a second menu when there are two of us.

This was not a big deal because I can just grab one from a nearby table.

The young man serviced us was extremely polite and friendly.

My wife is a vegetarian and also can't have garlic or onion, to this, they were also very accommodating and patient with our needs.

It is unfortunate that the daily special board wasn't better presented.

Their selection of unique tea merchandise were also interesting, however we noticed a number of them had passed their expiry date.

It is a good experience and will suit people with passion for tea.

Will revisit in the future.

Devonshire Tea was amazing. Jason (the waiter) was a delightful young man who was very polite and helpful. Would recommend Bygone Beauties every time. The collection of teapots etc. was an added bonus

The teapot museum has the sections: museum, cafe and shop. All three were deeply disappointing. My wife and I love tea and have our own tea and teapot collection at home. First of all we went to the cafe, which had a very small tea menu with very limited options, not many more than your typical cafe. Nothing interesting and they didn't even list the tea grades. The tea was not served with instructions on when to pour the tea and neither a jug nor a removable strainer were provided with the Russian caravan my wife ordered. This meant that while drinking her first cup the rest of the tea continued to brew and was ruined. The atmosphere was not very relaxing. Everywhere you looked there were teapots and merchandise crammed onto every available surface with no thought given to how it feels to be surrounded by that much clutter. The tea pots were in no discernable order or pattern. The cafe was also very noisy even though there were only two other tables in use at the time because of all the hard surfaces, and the decor (this is in addition to all the teapots on every surface) was very busy and disorganised. The tea itself was also very expensive, over $1 more than one would pay at a nice cafe. After the cafe we went into the museum. This is just one room crammed full of hundreds of teapots, only vaguely ordered by country of origin. The placards with information on them had insufficient information even sometimes missing out very important information in the history of tea, for example in the Japanese section their historical account stops short of major cultural and religious changes in the tea ceremony. Many teapots were completely obscured by others in front of them. There were quite a few interesting teapots in amongst what seemed like uncurated crap but it was so cramped and excessive that none of them could be appreciated. In fact even the teapots we didn't like at all could have had interest if they had been better displayed. The size of the collection required a space at least 3 times as big, or only a selection of the teapots on display at any given time. After this in order to exit we passed through the shop (having also passed through when we entered). The shop is at least 2 times as big as the museum!! This is just ridiculous. Most of the things for sale were decorative and many had nothing to do with tea! For example a whole glass case at the front was full of jewelry and there were teapot shaped paper weights and name cards. It seems absurd to use this much space for a shop when the museum part is in dire need of so much more space. Overall the feeling was very old fashioned British and whilst this is one part of the history and use of tea, to have the entire establishment themed like this seems ignorant of the vast amount of Asain history and culture relating to tea (not simply a small note saying tea originated in China) and not very attractive. If nothing else the whole place would be greatly improved with some tidying and better flooring. To significantly improve the place a complete overhaul would be required of menu, decor, curation of the collection, historical information, what merchandise they stock in the shop and a better use of space. My wife and I are still glad we went though, because despite all this there were some beautiful and interesting gems hidden away in this cacophony of clutter and kitch. Perhaps this place still has a chance to be wonderful if management completely changes their attitude and approach.
