Are you ready for the Hermit vibe? Haystack Mountain Hermits had its genesis around campfires on a 7 month long Big Lap of Australia in 2011. The family packed every instrument they could fit into the van and spent hours developing their musicianship as they drove the long, straight bits of Highway One. The Hermits played were invited to play live-to-air on ABC Darwin after their first ever busk at the iconic Mindil Markets. They busked at many other famous Australian market...s, including Fremantle, WA and Salamanca, Tasmania. Festivals, concerts, private gigs and more busking followed after the Hermits returned home to Southern Qld. In 2017, Haystack Mountain Hermits won the Qld Regional Busking Championships, and the Australian National Busking Championship title of Best Band. In 2018 they won the Tamworth Country Music Festival Busking Championship, followed by the Qld Regional Busking Championships ā€“ Best Band, Peopleā€™s Choice and Open Champions. Drawing large crowds wherever they busk or perform, the Hermits are an eclectic mix of instruments, voices and repertoire producing a unique sound which is hard to label with a genre. Think gypsy skiffle blues in a hayshed!

After embarking on an extended sojourn through Latin America, penning songs for her forthcoming new album, Byron Bay singer/songwriter Sam Buckingham drops the albumā€™s long awaited first single ā€˜The Waterā€™. Speaking directly to a loved one experiencing depression, Buckinghamā€™s message is clear:
ā€œItā€™s a song about finding a space where you can allow light to come in. We all experience darkness and difficulty, and thatā€™s an integral part of life - This song is about knowing the...reā€™s always somewhere to go to take a breath, connect with yourself and keep walking through.ā€
Having released two independent albums and lapping the country countless times on house concert tours, Buckingham has built a reputation as one of Australiaā€™s most authentic and prolific songwriters. Playing alongside the likes of Katie Noonan, Washington and Lior and gracing stages at the countryā€™s premier festivals, Buckingham is at once a seasoned performer and a compelling, emerging talent in Australiaā€™s burgeoning singer/songwriter scene.
We can't wait to see super talent Sam Buckingham perform live at the next Community Market! šŸ¤©

Not the same as it once was. It has gone from a free spirited market were people made everything. To stalls full of clothes that come from india. I have been waiting to take my wife for years. Finally got a chance to and we both left pretty disappointed. Best thing was the beetroot and chocolate cake.
