This church has always reached out to me and stayed connected with me, from the time I visited as a tourist to Australia, 10 years ago, to being a vital part of my relocation from NZ to live in Sydney 4 years ago. I have benefited greatly from being part of the C3 Rozelle family and grown spiritually through the teaching, pastoral intput and connections I have built up during this time.

Wow. What a genunine bunch of Christians. Just what I need. I guess just what we all need. If anyone has time to listen to why I say this, just pay for my cup of coffee. And I will explain. I have been going a couple of months. But I have hours of amazing kind stories. And

Wow.

We’ve been attending C3 Balmain for the past year and we absolutely love it (my brother & family have been going here for over four years) – we’ve been Christians for many years and were drawn to this church primarily because of the genuine love, care and ‘down to earth’ Pastors who are passionate about God, people and living your best life. There is a beautiful sense of family, acceptance and grace in this place. The music is amazing, the kids program is excellent; most importantly there are an abundance of special people here that we are enjoying the journey of life with. We feel deeply honoured to be part of a thriving church.

Worst thing about them? They don’t follow the bible. One clear sign is that no one can become a member of the church with enforceable entitlements. Like being entitled to be treated fairly, or to see the financials. They cover this up by not telling you. They love-bomb you so hard that you don’t think to ask. You assume with all that ‘love’ you are a member, like in a normal church, and entitled to fair treatment. Wrong. You aren’t. Does the bible say discriminate against people? No, it says the opposite, but that doesn’t stop them. Another sign is that they don’t give people who go any binding commitment to follow the bible. Give us your money for ‘God’s work’, but we won’t give you a commitment to follow the bible. They won’t tell you about this either. Why do these things? Only they could say, but it sure makes it easy to do what you like when you have absolute control over the cash and assets and no need to find a bible reason when you do something. I found this out the hard way when my wife and I came into conflict with Pastor Lucas. That’s when you find out if some really ‘loves’ you, or is just pretending to love you to get emotional leverage so they can get something out of you. It started when we questioned what they were doing about the five years of zero church attendance growth. Pastor Lucas made out all was well, then refused to speak to us about church problems. Then he preached publicly about the things we were in conflict with him about. He shamelessly self-promoted himself, and the church. To round it out he disgracefully denigrated other Christians, saying there were ‘no churches in the area doing anything of significance other than this one’. That he had never been to any of these churches did not stop him. Nor did what the bible says about boasting and slander. He also said that Jesus wanted a certain type of individual Pastor Lucas called ‘doubting Thomas’ thrown out of his presence. To illustrate this he made up entire sentences that he attributed to Jesus that have never been reported in any bible. My name happens to be Thomas. When we asked him for a financial account and complained about his conduct, Pastor Lucas denied the preaching and hired a security guard to throw us out. He slandered my wife and I to cover it up. His love for us had ended, but not his regard for the money we gave (they kept all of that). Most of the people in the church, so entranced with how ‘awesome’ the place was, seemed to buy the slander because they never spoke to us again. It was as though we had ceased to exist. I’ve had more genuine enemies, who at least didn’t pretend for years to ‘love’ me. ‘Awesome’!

An awesome bunch of people who love God and each other. After almost 10 years, I still feel as welcomed, loved and supported as I did when I first arrived. The pastors are loving and approachable and there's always great bible-based messages. My two year old loves the kids church, I've made some great girlfriends and my husband has made some great friends too. Truly an awesome church.
