Cafe Patina

Fine dining experience in a great location. We were probably lucky to be there on a quiet weekday evening so the food arrived quickly and the service was great. The dishes were explained to a great detail.

The scallops served on pork cheek and mushroom veloute was just amazing. The barramundi was cooked perfectly and the accompanying roast carrot purée was delicious. The panna cotta topped off a great meal.

Really enjoyed our lunch meal here. Food was fresh and very tasty, very friendly and helpful staff. Only downside was the wait, having said that it was well worth it! Delicious guys

Very nice coffee and view across to park but Sunday morning crush meant the service was hazard with poor communication between staff resulting in lost orders

We received a voucher in the mail for a set menu (and free glass of bubbly) on Wed and Thurs nights with BYO, as it had changed hands and this was to encourage locals to try it.!The chef sounded interesting.
So we decided to invite some "foodie" friends and take some special wines.
We were disappointed and surprised when we discovered only one person in the group received the free bubbles....who gets the prize was the question!
Then we sat down ....The bench seats are so soft and low we needed cushions to be supplied to be able to eat off the table. The couple on the other side, in the chairs, said they were hard and uncomfortable.
No money seems to have been spent on the decor since the previous owners and it lacks ambiance.
The food was underwhelming, and very seafood orientated which was a problem for our group as one person does not eat seafood. One dish was just prawns (with some sort of sauce)....no garnish, no anything else to enhance the dish.
The beef cheeks were quite tasty.
I would not recommend this place as it is not value for money. The menu leaves a lot to be desired. We were disappointed. We will not go there again.

Beautifully appointed cafe, fab location opposite Wahroonga Park and delicious food. Service was quick too as we had two under two. It was a hit for our family of five.

Such a shame to see a great place and location profiteering and offering ordinary service and charging an extra 10% service charge because it is a Sunday. Furthermore, they have the audacity to charge the service charge on a takeaway coffee too, because it is a Sunday. Shocking practice and taking advantage of people who want to go to the park, with their kids, and enjoy a coffee.

"Great location, but horrible food and pathetic service." I only had to repeat what some of the other reviewers have already said.

So sad it closed down
