Today marks the beginning of National Palliative Care week. The theme for this week is ‘What matters most?’, addressing the need for Australians to plan ahead for their end-of-life care and discuss it with their loved ones and health professionals. Palliative Care week highlights how palliative care can help people with a life-limiting illness to have a high quality of life, right to the end of life.

We’re thrilled to announce the appointment of former Australian Government Chief Medical Officer Professor Chris Baggoley AO, to the role of Chief Medical Advisor at Calvary.
The South Australian-based clinician is well respected with a national reputation in the field of emergency medicine, along with progressing the nation’s response to antimicrobial resistance, vaccine preventable disease, the risk of new communicable diseases, and improved screening and early diagnosis of non-communicable diseases such as cancer.
This is a significant honour for Calvary and we look forward to welcoming Professor Baggoley from 21 May 2018.
