Design, prototyping, project management, and production of aeroelastic structures in advanced composites, including UAVs.

Founded as CarbonicBoats in 1992 - the company was originally a consultancy specialising in the design, optimisation, and construction management of high performance racing sailboats for top level International Competition. Through this experience we developed a high level of technical expertise in aeroelastic structures and advanced composites.

CarbonicBoats has diversified its capabilities and re-branded as Carbonix in 2015 to reflect a new growth trajectory into aerospace applications. We are the first Australian company to deliver robust lightweight all carbon composite UAV airframes. This has given us a reputation as a leader in the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced composites for high performance systems in aeronautics (UAVs, RPAS, Drones), in addition to sailing boats and other high-performance applications.

Now located in a specialised secure facility on Cockatoo Island, Sydney, Carbonix has highly skilled in-house capabilities from design and prototyping through to full production.

In 2015 we also released the ‘Cometa’, a UAV design based on the sophisticated principles required to increase lift and reduce drag using start-of-the-art:
• Lightweight carbon composite technology;
• Advanced aerodynamics;
• Aeroelastic structures.
