Loving this JJ Vincent Bourgogne Blanc 2015 - have you tried it? Clean pale yellow color and green reflections. A nice brilliance. The nose is fresh and fruity, ripe and round with discrete vanilla and brioche scents. On the mouth, the wine is dense and rich, fresh and subtle with a good length and finesse. Overall, the wine is nicely balanced, fresh, elegant and with a long finish.

Great article about the German winery Gut Hermannsberg, exclusively available via Carboot Wines in Australia.

@dominiodelavega Reserva Especial Rose 2014. Burnt orange/ copper. Very aromatic, bread, orange zest and lemon citrus. The palate is rich and dry with orange zest and lemon citrus that is rounded with wonderful acidity. Fine persistent bead and mousse feel.

@dominiodelavega Bobal En Calma 2016. #Bobal anyone?? If you haven’t heard of this grape variety before do yourself a favour and seek it out, you will be amazed. Very Nebbiolo in character this wine is deep crimson, elegant with rich, ripe red cherries, raspberries, pomegranate, white pepper and sweet mild tannins with a long cherry pith and flinty finish.

We know! We know! We’re always banging on about Riesling, but after our German wine tasting a couple of days ago at Bishop Sessa this article just made a lot of sense.
And anyway, Riesling is delicious, even when you read about it.

12 degrees in Melbourne today. Perfect meal, wine on this wet and wintery day. Who says 2004’s are no good. This Corton Bressandes, youthful, spicy and elegant, goes great with lamb shanks.

Only in America? Or does this apply in Australia as well? Australians love their sparkling wines but are they hankering for the bigger stuff?

User

Very interesting article. Does everybody have the same definition of special? And is it time to change how we perceive how/when we drink rare/expensive wines?
