About Cargosolar

Imagine driving two hundred kilometres a week fueled by the sun!

That's ten thousand kilometres a year!

Parked under shade in the sun, protected from hail storms, and not using grid power. Power you can take to home, not from home.

Solar charging now.

Cargosolar Description

Sapoty Brook’s prototype system, CarGoSolar (TM), is a versatile accessory which can be placed on any vehicle's roof rack.

On an electric vehicle, CarGoSolar can be used to charge the EV with a unique automated cyclic process, using Brook's IP (Intellectual Property). Thirty percent of EV owners do not have a dedicated charger, at their apartment or work, and CarGoSolar can save them the trouble of hanging around public charging stations scrolling Facebook.

On a fossil fuel vehicle, CarGoSolar can be used as a power source for charging and powering all sorts of electric equipment. It supplies up to three kilowatts to equipment for food, trades, recreation, and farm /home use, for example.

Frankly, CarGoSolar can be placed literally anywhere that is above water-level providing a portable power source.

CarGoSolar, developed by Brook, includes a special solar battery which has extreme cycle life that you can expect to last for your entire lifetime! (Preppers note).

“Ninety five percent of the time, an EV is parked, often on a street, ” says Brook, “and that is an opportunity to charge the vehicle’s main ‘traction battery’. With CarGoSolar you can average 200 km of charging each week, that’s 10, 000 km a year of pure free solar charging! That saves the money, and many hours, spent waiting at charging stations. It also saves draining your home power or any home battery. ”

Brook wants to focus on designing and developing systems and is looking for a business person or company to commercialise his invention under licence. With the massive growth beginning in electric vehicles, this is an opportunity to ride the wave with a unique and potentially global product.

This Facebook page is the first presentation of the CarGoSolar product. We are seeking expressions of interest:
- from interested potential customers, and also
- people interested in the business opportunity provided by this patented invention.

Some Historical Context

For five generations the Crooke family have been pioneers in transport. From a great great grandfather's champion horse winning the first predecessor of the Melbourne Cup in 1849 and breeding horses for the Australian Army, a great grandfather establishing the first dedicated motor racing circuit in the World in 1906 and winning the first official motor race at his Aspendale Racecourse in Melbourne, a grandfather, a surviving World War 1 as a fighter pilot by swimming away from his plane under burning fuel, a father, as Chief Medical Officer for the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport, Federal President of the Sport Aircraft Association of Australia and aircraft builder, and three brothers, one an aircraft builder and pilot, and another a champion racing driver in F2 in 1986, manufacturer of the world's first full cockpit racing car simulator in 1990, and now building a new class of racecar, Hyper Racer with his son.

The other brother, Sapoty Brook, is a health fanatic (author of Eco-Eating) and “didn’t want to be Crooke all his life”, so he founded a new Brook dynasty, which may not be sustained by his daughter he explains with a grin. Brook is an electrical engineer who is committed to help avert climate disaster. He has taken a more environmental approach to transport with his business, Beyond Oil, selling over 1, 500 electric bikes and trikes Australia-wide. He has built several solar trike prototypes since 1990, and has now turned his hand to electric vehicles (EVs).
