Our goal is to build an community organization in the spirit of Carmen Rupe that will work to educate, empower and engage our own community and wider society on issues of social disadvantage

Our initial primary focus will be developing strategies and implementing programs designed to further Carmen Rupes' interest in LGBTI education and social justice.

To achieve this goal, we're looking for talented and similarly motivated people willing to work in a positive team environment to help build an organization capable of achieving great things in Carmens' honor.

Sydney law firm Brown Wright Stein and accountants Clark & Jacobs are currently helping us navigate the process of establishing this charity in Carmen's name. The CRMTs' Deed of Settlement was finalized in March 2012, with three of the planned six Trustees have already appointed.

Over coming months we'll be recruiting three more Trustees and an Advisory committee, who will have input on policy and strategy, as well as coordinating and /or leading projects initiated by the Trust. The CRMT advisory committees' work will include ongoing community consultation to ensure our organizations decision-making processes are informed by wider community perspectives.

We're also currently recruiting people to be involved in the production team for our official launch event and 2013 Sydney Mardi Gras Float

The CRMT already has a number of exciting projects in the pipeline -including a feature length documentary on Carmens' life and the launch of a service organization for Transgendered people and their friends called Transaction. The CRMT launch team was responsible for producing the Carmen Sea of Love float, which was nominated for a Mardi Gras Award after the 2012 Sydney Mardi Gras
